Wilma Bowen

BOWEN, Wilma -- Age 102, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Fenton, died June 8, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday June 11 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday, and 12 PM until time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek Missions. Wilma was born May 25, 1914 in Detroit the daughter of Benjamin A. and Jean Elizabeth (Wilson) Lemke. She married James H. Bowen Sr. on March 7, 1936 in Fenton he preceded her in death on April 28, 1988. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek. Wilma worked at convalescent Homes and cared for children. She owned and operated a County Group Home for Women for many years. She is survived by her children, John (Pat) Bowen, David (Nancy) Bowen, Jean (James) Nichols; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 24 great great grand children; 1 great great great grandaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James H. Bowen Jr; 1 grandson;1 great granddaughter; 2 great great great grandchildren; 7 brothers; 1 son in law.
