Goodrich

Abby Lynn Harrison, age 62, of Goodrich, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

In accordance with Abby’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date.

Abby was born on September 17, 1963, in Hoopeston, Illinois, to the late William Francis and Nancy Kay (McVicker) Crose. She devoted her career to serving special needs children as a paraprofessional in the Goodrich Area School System, a role she approached with care, patience, and commitment.

She was well known in the community for her love of baking-especially her chocolate chip cookies, which became a familiar presence at Goodrich Martians athletic events. Affectionately known as “The Cake Lady,” Abby decorated countless birthday and graduation cakes for local students. Her artistic talent was also expressed through quilting, producing dozens of handmade quilts over the years.

Abby’s lifelong love of dogs reflected her kind and generous spirit and is honored through her choice of memorial charities. Most of all, she cherished her roles as wife, mother, and Nana.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, John; her sons, Luke (Kayla) Harrison of Wolverine Lake and Matt (Allison) Harrison of Milford; and her grandchildren, William, Teddy, and Lewis. She is also survived by her brothers, Scott (Julie) Crose and Mike Crose, both of Hoopeston, Illinois.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions in Abby’s memory may do so to Leader Dogs for the Blind(www.leaderdog.org), the Humane Society of Genesee County(http://www.michiganhumane.org/), or Canines for Change(www.caninesforchange.org).
