VERKENNES, Alberta Carolyn, age 92, of Flint, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at Fenton Health Care. Graveside services will be 11:00AM Friday, December 28, 2012 at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Alberta was born December 16, 1920 in Brainard, Minnesota the daughter of the late Adoph and Maltilda (Verkennes) Grenier. She married William Verkennes who preceded her in death in 1977. Surviving are her niece, Rose Willis (Harry) of Flint; nephew, Clarence Gaboury of Flint; great nieces Connie Slater of Flint, Pam Schmitt of Grand Rapids; great-great nieces, Christina Slater and Leah Vanderveen.
