Alice Elizabeth BIERMAN

Bierman, Alice, Elizabeth (Pantti) age 88, passed away on February 26, 2014 at Caretel Inn in Linden, Michigan. She was born May 31st 1925 in Rockland, Michigan and was the daughter of Ivar and Sophie Pantti. Alice was proud of her Upper Peninsula Finnish family heritage growing up on the family farm. During WWII she moved to Detroit and was a "Rosie the Riveter" checking military aircraft gears at Ford Motor Company. It was at Ford in Highland Park that she met her husband, Joseph Bierman, who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Howell, MI. She is survived by her four children; Sharon (Bruce) Allmaras, Daniel (Glenda) Bierman, Patricia (Dan) Saunders, Sandra (Brian) Bartkowiak. She has four grandchildren; Dustin, Nicholas, Bradley and Jordan; and one great grandchild; Jossie. A private ceremony for the family was held at St. John Catholic Church with Father Francis George officiating. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
