Alice Kenney

Kenney, Alice Elizabeth "Liz" - Age 82, of Flushing, died Saturday, January 12, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint with Father Thomas Firestone and Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Monday, January 14 at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center or the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel at our temporary location Hill Creek Church 5363 Hill Rd. Swartz Creek (Mundy Township). Liz was born September 20, 1936 in Manistee, Michigan, the daughter of John "Jack" Anderson and Helen (Puha) Anderson. She married Dale Kenney on August 11, 1956 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton. She devoted her life to family and raising her five children. She worked at Americare Company for 3 years, St. Luke's N.E.W. Life Center for 13 years where she served as a board member, as an Avon Representative for 13 years and at AC Delco for 22 years until she retired. She served as a Girl Scout leader for many years, volunteered as a street minister at St. Luke's Church, ran the St. Robert's Lunch Program, started the Neighbors In Need program, and volunteered at McLaren Hospital for five years for the Women Auxiliary Program. She is survived by her husband, Dale; five children, Sheri (Dick) Bade, Jeff (Janet) Kenney, David (Gina) Kenney, Ron Kenney, and Jimmy (Anna) Kenney; grandchildren, Jason, David (Nomsa), Thad (fiancee, Laura), Katie, Kory, Megan, Emma, Luke, Isabella, Aubrey, J.J., Jack, and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sheila Witten and brother, John Anderson.
