Allan Edward Carr

CARR, Allan Edward - age 79 of Fenton, passed away, May 9, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, May 15, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Allan was born on January 8, 1947, in Flint, Michigan. He married Kathryn Anne Gilmet on February 25, 1966, and had a loving partnership that spanned 60 years. Allan retired from General Motors Buick Division 25, where he worked as a maintenance supervisor. Known throughout the community as “Coach Carr,” Allan dedicated many years to coaching football at Lake Fenton High School, positively impacting countless young athletes and families. He had a deep love for the outdoors and especially cherished time spent boating on Lake Fenton with family and friends. Allan also enjoyed taking on projects at home and was always happiest when working with his hands. Above all, Allan’s greatest joy in life was being a proud grandfather to his many grandchildren and great-grandchilrend, whom he loved dearly. Surviving are: wife of 60 years, Kathryn; three children, Allan (Clarissa) Carr, Jr. of Essexville; Anthony "Tony" (Tracy) Carr of Rose Township; and Andrea (Bryan) Rodgers of Fenton; grandchildren, Alexandria (Dennis) Martinez, Jordan Ballard, Anthony (Summer) Rodgers, Alyssa (Korey) Long, Brenden, Avery, and Kaycie Carr, Braydi and Bobbi White, Josh (Sheena) Ruel, Hailey Abbo, and Trevor (Anais) Abbo; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Hubert "Bud" (Marlene) Carr; Marcus (Linsey) Joseph, and Kathy Joseph; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his father, Hubert Eugene Carr; his mother, Flora Joseph; and two brothers, Douglas Carr and Timothy Carr. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
