Amanda Alexander, 39, of Burton, Michigan, went home to Jesus on October 18, 2025, in Detroit. Born in Flint and raised in Burton, she was the kind of person who made you feel seen-soft-spoken, big-hearted, and endlessly loving.

Her greatest joy was being Colton’s mom. If he had a game, a practice, a school event-Amanda was there, cheering loud and hugging tight. She was also a true Daddy’s girl, anchored by the love and steady presence of her dad, Tom.

Amanda is loved always by her son, Colton Alexander; her dad, Tom Beardslee, and his wife, Lynn; her mom, Lynnda Squires, and her husband, Nathan; her grandfather Art Squires; her brothers Brad Beardslee (Katy), Hunter Squires (Kyrstin), Ryan Squires, Clayton Kenney; her sisters Tiarra Horn (Ryan), Jenny Squires (Garret), and Alyssa Cole (Todd); and a big circle of nieces, nephews, and friends who became family. She is welcomed in heaven by her grandparents Dee and Jim Reid, Delmar and Carrie Beardslee, Thelma Squires, Joan Hamann, and her brother Ronald Kenney.

A Celebration of Amanda's Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Open Door United Methodist Church located at 4010 Lippincott Blvd., Burton, Michigan 48509. Pastor Kim Metzer and Pastor Bruce Garner will officiate. The family will receive guests at the church from 12:00 PM Saturday until the time of service.
