Andrea Z. Floden

Floden, Andrea Z. - Age 86, of Flint, passed away April 27, 2026. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Fr. Tim MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. In honor of Andrea’s love of color, bright attire is welcomed and black is not required. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. Cecilia Society of Flint. Andrea was born October 14, 1939, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas and Szora (Stipeck) Zlatek. From the age of five, Andrea dedicated her life to music, emerging early as a gifted musician and generously sharing her talents with others. She was deeply engaged in both the musical and civic life of her community. Andrea served as an Adjunct Professor of Music at Mott Community College for 37 years. Throughout her life, she taught music to youth and adult students—both in her home and as a faculty member at the Flint Institute of Music—and performed as an accompanist for countless young and professional musicians. Andrea was an active member of the St. Cecilia Society, where she served as a performing member and held the role of president on multiple occasions, most recently from 2018 to 2020. She was also a life member of the Flint Federation of Musicians, as well as the Michigan and National Federations of Music Clubs. Her passion for music, leadership, and service touched and enriched many lives. Surviving are Son, Erik (Heidi) Floden of Washington D.C., two grandchildren, Lindsey and Andrew Floden.
