Van Wormer, Anna M., - Age 83, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Â Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Friday, May 2, 2008 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint with Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Â Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Â Visitation will be held 11-3PM and 5-8PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, and at the Church from 10AM Friday until the time of Mass. Â A Vigil will be held at 6PM Thursday at the funeral home. Â Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Â Anna was born January 7, 1925 in Sanford, the daughter of John and Amelia (Katrinic) Jaksa. Â She graduated from Grand Blanc High School where she played softball and basketball. Â Anna married Richard Van Wormer on November 11, 1950 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Â She had been a resident of Swartz Creek the past 3 years coming from Flint Township where she had resided for 47 years. Â Anna was employed as a noon-time supervisor for 21 years at Randels Elementary, a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and enjoyed monthly get-together's with her "Lunch Bunch". Â Surviving are her husband, Richard; 6 children, Susan and Mark Engen of Flint, Douglas Van Wormer of Birch Run, Gary and Jackie Van Wormer of Columbia, TN, Scott Van Wormer of Cordova, TN, Roger and Stacy Van Wormer of Naperville, IL, Laura and George Berg of Grosse Pointe Farms; 10 Grandchildren, Amy (Kenn), Carrie, Jennifer (Michael), Lance, Jillian, Ryan, Morgan, Miles, Madison, Amelia; 4 great grandchildren, Jonah, Hadley, MaKenna, Ava; 2 brothers, George (Esther) Jaksa of Flint, and James (Sarah) Jaksa of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews. Â Anna was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, John, Peter, Michael Jaksa; sister, Mary Van Wormer.
