Ardis Mclaren

McLaren, Ardis Ernestine - Age 93, of Duffield, died Monday, July 13, 2020 at her home on the farm she loved surrounded by her family. Private graveside services were held at Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Ardis was born July 9, 1927 in Gaines, the daughter of Ernest Ira and Iva Bernice (Williams) Brown. She was a 1945 graduate of Durand High School and attended Michigan State Normal College in Ypsilanti. She married Lloyd Robert McLaren December 19, 1949 in Flint and he preceded her in death March 26, 1970. Ardis retired from Durand Concrete and Hardware as a Sales Associate and also had worked for Stan Perkins as a Auctioneer Clerk. She was a very active member of Duffield United Methodist Church. She also was very active in the Durand Area School Band Boosters. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving are: 5 children, Peggy Brown of Morrice, Marie (Lee) Plant of Morrice, Sue (Rich) Freyser of Clermont, FL, Janet (John Lee) McLaren of Clio, and Melissa (Kevin) Johnson of Duffield; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael McLaren; brother, Robert Brown; and sister, Donna Varblow. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
