Arthur Robert "Art" Hitchings

HITCHINGS, Arthur Robert "Art" - Age 70, of Fenton, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025. Funeral services will be held 5:00 pm Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed directly below his obituary here). Mr. Billy Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 3:00 pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Art was born April 19, 1955 in Flint, the son of Gerald Eland and Marie Irene (Brown) Hitchings. He was a 1973 graduate of Ainsworth High School. He married Terry Lynn Caverly September 25, 1976 in Swartz Creek. He had resided in Fenton for the past 49 years coming from Swartz Creek. Art retired in 2010 from General Motors S.P.O. in Swartz Creek. He was a member of the Monday Night Cruisers at The Fireplace Lounge. He enjoyed building cars and attending his grandchildren's activities.

Surviving are: his wife of 49 years, Terry; son, Robert Arthur (Mary) Hitchings of Fenton; daughter, Kathy Hitchings of Belleville; grandchildren, Lily and Gavin Hitchings; siblings, Elizabeth Hall of Tennessee, Beatrice (Rich) Moore of Tennessee, Glenn (Betsy) Hitchings of Marion and Margaret (John) Mattson of Swartz Creek; special nephew, William Bowling and several other dear nephews and nieces.
