Barbara Lee Blakney

Barbara Lee Blakney - Age 76, of Flushing, passed away June 10, 2025. Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Pastor Holly Blake will officiate. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11AM until the time of service Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the family.

Barbara was born July 12, 1948 in Flint, the daughter of the late Manley Jack and Arlene Marie (Crane) Curns. She retired from the Genesee County Sheriff's Department, where she worked in the Elder Abuse Division. A devout Christian and generous by nature; Barbara was an active member of Lighthouse Community Church of Greater Flint, where she enjoyed volunteering her time. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her granddaughter, Makayla (Thomas) Riedel; great-grandchildren, Elliott, Jaxon and Mia; sister, Carol (Jim) Lusk; brother, Jerry Curns, as well as many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
