BUTLER, Barbara J. -- Age 94, of Flint, died April 24, 2014. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Sunday April 27 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 12 - 3 PM Sunday. Barbara was born May 10, 1919 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of Charles H. and Jean (Strong) Holmes. She married James Butler on October 12, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1978. She was a member of the McLaren Ladies Auxiliary for over 25 years. Surviving are: Son, Dennis (Bethany) of Flushing; 2 grandsons, Michael (Tammy) of Canadian, TX, Matthew (Mary) of Blountville, TN; 4 great-grandchildren, Noah, Sydney, Sarah and Haley. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. The family extends a special thanks to the caring staff at Hyde Park in Flushing.
