Betty Jean Donalson

Betty Jean Donalson of Lennon, MI passed away Saturday August 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

 Born January 21, 1931 to Harold D. Selby and Elfie R. (Munson) Selby, the oldest of four. She was raised in Flint, MI where she graduated from Hoover High School in 1947, she was Valedictorian of her class. After graduating, she worked at a small restaurant. Later Retiring from General Motors where she’d worked in the Payroll Department for over 35 years.

Betty was an avid collector of dolls, birds and cats. For many years, Betty could be found at any Durand Athletic Event and following the Marching Band. She enjoyed watching the wildlife in her backyard. Puzzles and crossword puzzles were hobbies she truly enjoyed and you could find her doing at any given time. She enjoyed gardening for many years and mowing her lawn. Her truest joys though were watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren throughout the years. 

Betty was a very special woman, warm and kind and that is how she will be remembered. 

Betty is survived by her three grandchildren Emily (Brent) Gunsell, Nathaniel (Emily) Dillon and Ethan (Amy) Dillon, six great grandchildren, Harper, Finley, Holden, Harrison, Remi and Kensington as well as her sister Shirley (Bill) Anderson. 

Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly A Dillon, her parents Harold and Elfie Selby and her two brothers Richard and Robert.
