Betty Tucker

TUCKER, Betty Jane- Age 91, of Owosso, died November 26, 2016. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Sunday December 11, at Sharp Funeral Home Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will take place 1 PM until the time of service. Betty was born October 4, 1925 in Durand the daughter of S.O. and Mary Ann (Steele) VanWoert. She was a waitress throughout her life. She also worked at Howell Industries and was a clerk at the Durand Rail Road Depot gift shop. She loved to be with family and friends and loved doing jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Josephine) Allen of Durand; sisters, Ruth Street of Clinton Township, Dorothy (Gail) Miller of Taylors, S.C., and Lois Beebe of Owosso; brother, Harry (Penny) VanWoert of Burton, TX; grandchildren, Angela Deisler or Durand, Samantha Allen of Lennon, Charissa Hope of Flint Township, and Jason Allen of Swartz Creek; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Allen; sisters, Pearl Rye, Vera Bryant, and Liz Acord; brothers, Ernest, Donald, and Howard.
