Betty Jane Saule

SAULE, Betty Jane- Age 87, of Fenton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026 in Port Charlotte, FL. Services will be held at the Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, Michigan 48430 at a date to be determined this summer. Those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer's Association.

Betty was born March 13th, 1938 in Illinois, the daughter of Carroll and Gladys Crews. She was raised in the small town of Morris, IL. After graduation from high school, she worked as an administrator for the government before meeting and marrying her soulmate, Jim Saule on May 20, 1961. Betty and Jim resided in Fenton for 56 years coming from Joliet, IL. She spent her early years raising three children, volunteering at the school, working part-time as a secretary and later for the Head Start program in Flint, MI. She was an active member of the Fenton Jaycees and the Bayview Club. She was an avid reader, loved playing bridge with her friends, dancing with her husband, gardening, cuddling with her dog and spending time with her family.

Surviving are: her son, James A. (Crystal) Saule of Punta Gorda, FL; daughter, Julie S. (Gordon) Smith of Golden, CO; grandchildren, Heather Saule, Max Smith, Chase (Natalie) Smith, Kali Smith, Kellie (Michael) George and Nick Palm; and nieces, nephews and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim, her daughter, Jodi, her sister, Linda and her brother, Bob.
