Bettye was born October 21, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan. She married Anthony Lukasiewicz on June 18, 1983.

Surviving are: her husband of 42 years, Anthony; three children, Eric (Julia) Lukasiewicz, Ellen (Chris) Andrus, Kathleen (Justin) Brewton; grandchildren, Anthony, Grayson, Dalton, Ethan, Eli, and Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth McDonald; and brother Harold Perry.
