COLLISON, Bobbette Jane (Rush) - Age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on November 15, 2023 with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Friday, November 17, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Thursday and 2 PM until the time of service on Friday. Burial will be 1:30 PM Monday, November 20, 2023 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Detroit Pistons Foundation. Bobbette was born November 6, 1939 in Flint, the daughter of Harold Leon and Alva Syvetta (Stacey) Rush. She married Thomas W. Collison Jr. on November 30, 1963. They met through mutual friends at a dance at Mott Community College. Thomas went to serve 4 years as a Marine. Bobbette graduated from Utley High School and earned a Masters Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University. She taught First grade in Linden Community Schools for 36 years before retiring in 2000. She loved going to watch the Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills and was a 25 year season ticket holder. She enjoyed going to her cabin in Tawas in the Summer and Winter, when she wasn't teaching. Bobbette loved to drive tractors in parades and over the Mackinac Bridge. She was very active in Tractor Club, Daughters of the Union, Marine Corps Auxiliary and Genealogy, but what she enjoyed the most was spending time watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events. Bobbette also enjoyed sewing and crafts. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas Collison Jr.; son, Thomas (Colleen) Collison III; daughter, Sarah Terry; grandchildren, Thomas (Harley) IV, Katie (Josh), Joe (Katy), Nicole (Jacob); great-grandchildren, RJ, Jazmynn, Peyton, Jasper, Dechlan, Vayden; sister, Betty "Joanne" Scheick; her pride and joy, fur babies, Sanely, Lady Jane; and her nieces, nephews and friends.
