Dearly loved by her husband, daughters, and friends, Bobby Jean Bidwell, age 78 of Linden, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Thursday, August 7, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 6481 Faussett Rd., Howell. Fr. Gregg Pleiness celebrant. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities (www.catholiccharitiesflint.org)
Bobby was born October 27, 1946 in Detroit, the daughter of Robert Eugene and Norma Jean (Newman) Shekell. She grew up in Brighton and was a graduate of Brighton High School. She also attended University of Michigan. Bobby married her husband of 59 years, Jim Bidwell on August 27, 1968 in Ann Arbor.
She was a successful realtor in the Columbus, OH area and Fenton at Century 21 and RE/MAX. Bobby taught Real Estate Law and Ethics; and was head of education at RE/MAX of Michigan. She was best known for being kind, cheerful, enthusiastic, and bright. Bobby especially treasured her family, friends, kids, dogs, St. Augustine Parish, Acapulco condo, cruises, clothes, music, and dancing. She was really delighted in her Old English Sheepdogs for 45 years. She won BOS at Westminster 2007 with her Otterhound, "Marilyn Monroe". Bobby also taught Catechism for 40 years including locally at St. John's and St. Augustine. She moved to Linden in 1989.
Bobby was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Andrea Bidwell. She is survived by her husband, Jim Bidwell; daughter Karla (Chris) Carmichael; grandson Andrew; and sister, Sandra Ongley.
