Bradley “Brad” Douglas Morey, 72, of Swartz Creek, Michigan passed away on Saturday, May 16th 2026 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Sherridee Morey. They shared 20 loving years of marriage together.
Brad was a man of hard work, socializing, story telling, and his roots ran deep in agriculture. He adored his red, International tractors and would “razz” anyone else for thinking different. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and camping together. They had many adventures throughout Michigan and traveling south to Florida. Wherever he went, Brad either always knew someone or would make a new acquaintance. He knew no stranger. For years, Christmases were always celebrated on the farm. He valued keeping those traditions alive by putting on feasts with his family, joining at the dining room table, and telling stories. His heart was content and full with his grandchildren, especially when they came to the farm.
Brad was born in Flint, Michigan on December 31st, 1953 and was the son of Douglas and Margaret (McClenna) Morey. Brad was the youngest of two sisters, Katheryn (Daily) and Marilyn (Nevadomski). He grew up in Mundy Township and spent his entire life on Cook Road, raising a family, farming with his father and dearest sons, Chad and Brett. He treasured farming and was dedicated to providing a life for his loved ones. He was a graduate of Lake Fenton in 1972. He worked at McDonald Dairy, later Country Fresh Dairy, for 40 years, retiring in 2013. He would wake up in the wee hours of the morning for work, and would come home after his shift to work on the farm until late evening. Yet he still made time for vacations to the beach, excursions on the old Chris-Craft boat, snowmobiling trips, sporting events, and visiting with neighbors and friends.
He met his best friend and wife, Sherridee, while working at the dairy. They were married on June 25th, 2005 and blended a family of six children. Time was spent on vacations up north to the cabin, visiting his sister, Katheryn and John, at their cabin on Boisi Blanc Island, along with many trips to Port Huron. He welcomed and loved Sherridee’s children, treating them as one of his own.
Brad is survived by his wife Sherridee Morey, his sons Chad Morey (Laura), Brett Morey (Emily), and daughter Chelsi Morey (Todd). He is survived by his stepchildren, Isaac Eckert (Larissa), Melody Haggard (Jeff), and Crystal McNiel (Brandon). He is survived by his beloved 16 grandchildren: Gracie, Corbin, Hinsley, Rhett, Kaylynn, Kyla, Parker, Paisley, Alivia, Peter, Eva, Delilah, Marielle, Cameron, Juliet, and Alexander. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law John Daily and Jason Nevadomski, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews whom he loved greatly. He was preceded in death by his sisters Katheryn Daily and Marilyn Nevadomski.
