Brandy Renee Chatfield, 42, of Dafter, passed away suddenly on December 18, 2025, at home.
She was born on January 3, 1983, to Brian and Karen (Munger) Baird in Pontiac, MI. Known for her compassionate and caring devotion to others, Brandy served in several positions as a social worker. On September 23, 2006, she married the love of her life, Adam Chatfield, in Grand Blanc.
Brandy held strong beliefs and communicated them with kindness and grace, never afraid to speak her truth. A lifelong learner, she earned her master’s degree and was nearing completion of her doctorate. She loved to write, whether journaling or sending cards to let others know she was thinking of them. That love was evident from her first published book as a child. A master organizer, she also loved crafting and had an extraordinary talent for turning what was broken into something beautiful.
She cherished time camping and fishing with her husband and children. A deeply spiritual person, she treasured her connection to God the Creator, which Brandy felt most strongly while being close to nature. Her life was lived in so many ways for others. She was selfless, always putting others’ needs before her own. She had a boundless heart for veterans and for people who were struggling. She had the talents and skills to find resources that could help—and if one didn’t exist, she would research until she found one.
Brandy was the foundation of love within her family, a devoted wife and mother. She and Adam worked opposite schedules so their children would never have to attend daycare, even when that meant working two or three jobs while attending school at the same time. Her priority was always her husband and children.
Brandy is survived by her loving spouse of 19 years, Adam Chatfield; two children, Caleb Keith Chatfield and Autumn Jane Chatfield; her parents, Brian and Karen Baird; two sisters and their families, Heather Guinn (Matt) and their children Nicholas, Macie, Samuel, and Christopher, and Kacie Kapanka (Corey) and their children James, Charlie, Josie, Connor, and Juniper; her father-in-law, John Chatfield Sr. (Carla); and her brother-in-law, John Chatfield Jr. (Cathy) and their children Alysha, Allen, Andrea, Andrew, Alex, Abby, and Ava.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Lorraine (Scott) Munger; her paternal grandparents, Richard and Lucy (Terryah) Baird; her uncle, Rick Munger; and her aunt, Mary Beardslee.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Rd., Grand Blanc, MI 48439, with Pastor Bob Scott officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Private family interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In memory of Brandy, memorial contributions may be made to 22 2 None, the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, or Tunnels to Towers. Online condolences may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.”
