Brenda Rumschlag

RUMSCHLAG, Brenda Kay -- Age 65, of Fenton, died Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, January 6, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Visitation will be 1-9 PM Sunday, with a  7 PM Rosary Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to Kindred Hospice. Brenda was born April 16, 1954 in Fenton the daughter of JC Hugh and Ramona Charlotte (Trowbridge) Green. She earned her RN from Hurley School of Nursing and BSN from the University of Michigan. Brenda worked in the Hurley OR and volunteered in the Honduras as a nurse. She decorated cakes as a side business. She was married to Michael John Rumschlag on May 23, 1981 in Fenton and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2007. She had resided in Fenton the past 25 years. In prior years she resided in Antofagasta, Chile, Carson City, NV, Muskegon, MI, Spring Lake, MI, Yuma, AZ, and Flint, MI. She and Mike traveled the World. Brenda was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Pioneer Memorial Association. She was assistant Cubmaster for 3 years and volunteered extensively with the Fenton Schools in the North Road PTA, Special Education group and countless other activities. She loved to cook, bake, garden, sew and travel. She was a gifted artist and her paintings are displayed throughout the home. She was employed as OR Manager by IVF Michigan in Troy as an RN. Brenda is survived by: two sons, Scott and Eric, of Fenton; mother, Ramona of Fenton; one sister, Gail and husband Dan of Linden, one brother, Wayne and wife Pam of Fenton; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
