Caesar Cappo

CAPPO, Jr. Caesar A. -- Age 91 of Flint, died Monday, August 24, 2015. A funeral mass will be held 11AM Friday, August 28, 2015 a St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave, Flint. Fr. Robert Copland celebrant. Entombment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 2-4PM and 6-8PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, and from 10AM until the time of mass at the church Friday. A Knights of Columbus service will be held at 3:30PM Thursday at the funeral home. Caesar was born November 6, 1923 in Baltic, MI the son of Caesar and Jenny (Mare) Cappo. He married Ruth E. Saari on April 12, 1945 in Detroit. He is a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as Plant Protection for GM and retired in 1989. He was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. John Blasko Council #8245, and a member of the Sons of Italy. He enjoyed playing hockey in the Flint area and played the game up until the age of 72. Survived by: wife of 70 years, Ruth, daughter, Sharon (Richard) Starck of Arlington, VA, grandchildren; Shelley (Miguel) Green, Rick Starck, Jason (Sara) Stark, Kylie Starck, great-grandchildren; Noah, Natalie, Nathan, Mikaela, Colette, brother, Gene (Carolyn) Cappo, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
