BUCK , Carl W. - Age 79, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Linden Presbyterian Church, 119 W. Broad St., Linden. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Michigan Veterans Foundation or the American Lung Association. He was born November 15, 1933 in Picher, OK, the son of Ollie and Alpha (Biddlecomb) Buck. Mr. Buck was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War as a Lieutenant Colonel. He married Loretta May Autry on November 29, 1958. Mr. Buck earned a bachelor degree from Kansas State University, a masters degree from Eastern Michigan University and a masters degree from University of Michigan. He was a teacher at Swartz Creek Community Schools for 38 years retiring in 1992. Mr. Buck was a member of Linden Presbyterian Church and enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Surviving are: wife, Loretta; three children, Scott W. (Maria) Buck of AZ, Cheri Sue (Mitchell) Segel of Clarkston, Teresa Ann (Mark) Upcraft of Fenton; eight grandchildren, Natalie, Clarissa, Nathanael and Samantha Buck, Zachary and Cassidy Segel, Joshua and Sydney Upcraft; sister, Lavonne (Roger) Coppenbarger.
