Carol Gardner

GARDNER, Carol Jean - Age 82, of Linden, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Thursday from 1-3 and 5-8 PM with a vigil service being held at 7:00 PM and at church 10:00 AM Friday until the time of the Mass. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr Jim Rolph celebrant. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Carol was born March 14, 1932 in Calumet, MI. She married George W. Gardner October 21, 1950. Carol worked for General Motors for 25 years and her and George retired in 1987. Carol was active in her Catholic community, she was a Hospice volunteer, and was a 20 year breast cancer survivor. She and George worked and raised their family in Flint and Swartz Creek. Survivng are: Her husband of 64 years, George and their five children, Gordon Gardner and wife Joann, Lynn Barnes and husband Bryan of FL, Beverly Gardner of Grand Rapids, Donna Reynolds and her husband Keith of OR, and Michelle Callard and her husband Michael of Linden; grandchildren, Tammie Gardner, John Gardner (Alicia), Tiffanye Promenchenkel (Eric), Greg Gardner, Anthony Walker, Heather Myers (Josh), Lindsey Walker, Braedan Werth, Garrett Callard, and Matthew Callard; great grandchildren, Ashlee, Mark Jr., Gavin, Carson, Ethan, Austin, Mason, Wyatt, and Brielle; also surviving is her sister, Patricia Galetto of Milford.
