Born on February 7, 1945, Carolyn lived a life marked by grace, hospitality, and unwavering faith. To know her was to be welcomed—she had a gift for turning strangers into lifelong friends, often over a warm meal and heartfelt conversation.

A proud graduate of Southwestern High School, Carolyn went on to attend Flint Junior College, where she met the love of her life, Ronald Dunn. By their third date, they knew they had found their match and began planning a future filled with laughter, devotion, and family. Their love story became the foundation of a life lived in joyful service to others for sixty years.

Carolyn was a devoted member of Calvary United Methodist Church, where her servant’s heart found countless expressions. She lovingly cared for infants in the church nursery. She was a faithful volunteer in the church kitchen, preparing and serving funeral dinners for grieving families with compassion and care. Her faith was not just spoken, it was lived daily through prayer, generosity, and a deep commitment to welcoming others into her home and heart.

Her passions reflected her vibrant spirit: she delighted in cooking for others, reading romance novels, visiting donut shops in every city she traveled to, catching the latest movie, and vacationing on the peaceful shores of Bois Blanc Island. These simple joys revealed her love for beauty, comfort, and connection.

Carolyn’s legacy is one of love in action. She leaves behind a community enriched by her kindness, a family shaped by her devotion, and a church strengthened by her service. Her life was a living testimony to the words of Matthew 25:23: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Carolyn Dunn is survived by her; children Michael (Brandie) Dunn and their four children, Isabel (Nathan) Berceau, Megan Dunn, Sylvia Dunn, and Mitchell Dunn.
