Casper "Pete" Joseph BONDY

BONDY, Casper Joseph "Pete"- age 84, of Grand Blanc, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his residence. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Monday, June 17, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc with Fr. Jonathan Perrotta celebrant. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Following the burial, The family requests everyone to celebrate his life at a luncheon in the Fr. Bush Hall, at Holy Family Parish. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint where a rosary will be prayed 7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 822 Honor Guard or American Legion Post 413 Flag Fund for Great Lakes National Cemetery. Mr. Bondy was born October 8, 1928 in Detroit, the son of Ernest Joseph and Edna (Krause) Bondy. He married Margaret Gendron on July 9, 1949. She preceded him in death on January 31, 2013. Mr. Bondy was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of VFW Post 822 and American Legion Post 413. He was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Parish and the Men's Club of Holy Family. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Dom Polski. Casper was an avid sailor, devoted husband, father and grandfather. His favorite times were around the kitchen table enjoying his family. Surviving are: nine children, Mark (Carol), James (Kathy), Ernest (Janet), Mary (Bob) Garrard, William, Donna (David) Johnson, Catherine (Jeff) Ruff, Theresa (Gary) Chazick, Ann (Paul) Myers; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
