In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Swarm Foundation (www.theswarmfoundation.org). Chance was born on October 30, 2002, in Grand Blanc, Michigan. He was a 2021 graduate of Swartz Creek High School, where he formed many lasting friendships and played baseball for several years. Whether on the field, at work, or with family and friends, Chance carried himself with quiet confidence, determination, and kindness. Chance had a generous heart and a natural ability to make people feel welcome. He never sought attention or recognition, yet his presence was felt by everyone around him. He was exceptionally intelligent and a deep thinker, often seeing perspectives that others missed. He had a curious mind and a thoughtful way of looking at the world. Along with his wisdom came a playful side. Chance enjoyed a little harmless trouble now and then and had a knack for bringing laughter into everyday moments. He had a dry sense of humor, a quick wit, and a way of making people laugh when they least expected it. His smile could light up a room, and his laughter was something special. It felt like a reward, making everyone around him want to be part of whatever had earned it. The friendships he built throughout his life often became something deeper, as Chance had a gift for turning friends into family. People were drawn to his authenticity, loyalty, and quiet strength. Family meant everything to Chance, and his love and dedication to those closest to him was evident in both his words and actions. From a young age, Chance found peace on the water. He loved fishing and looked forward each year to fish camp trips with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. He also enjoyed paintball and was a proud member of the Swarm team, where his competitive spirit and loyalty to his teammates shined through. Chance worked as a Wind Turbine Technician, a career that reflected his strong work ethic, adventurous nature, and willingness to take on challenges. He approached life with quiet determination and was never afraid of hard work. Of all the roles Chance held in his life, one of his favorites was being an uncle. He loved spending time with his niece and nephews, sharing laughs, creating memories, and showing them the same kindness and patience that defined his character. Chance was a quiet leader. He did not need to be the loudest voice in the room to make a difference. He led through his actions, his loyalty, and the way he cared for others. He moved through life with humility and strength, leaving a lasting impact on the people fortunate enough to know him. Though his time here was far too short, the love, memories, and influence he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Surviving are: mother, Amanda Herman; father, Daniel Edwards; brother, Broden (Haley) Herman; sister, Amberly (Aiden) Barkowski; niece and nephews, Grayson Herman, Liam, Dahlia, and Cassin Barkowski; grandparents, Christopher and Phyllis Herman; uncle, Bryan Campbell; cousins, Mike Fernandez and Madalyn Miller; many friends that were like family and his fishing buddies.
