Charlene Ames

Ames, Charlene Marie - Age 81, of Swartz Creek, died December 20, 2022. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, December 26 at Sharp Funeral Homes,  Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, The Rev. Bart R. Muller officiating. Visitation will be held 11 AM until the time of the funeral at 2 PM on Monday December 26. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimers Association.  Charlene was born May 8, 1941 in Rudyard, Michigan the daughter of Wilhart Nayback and Irene (Hill) Nayback. She graduated from high school in 1959 in Rudyard. She married Frederick Keith Ames on June 18, 1960 in Rudyard. She retired from Sears Credit with many years of service. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  Surviving are: husband of 62 years, Frederick; son, Kenneth Keith Ames; daughter, Karen Dianne Ames; brother, Dennis Nayback of Lansing, Terry (Catherine) Nayback of Kentwood; sister, Debbie (Steven) Viele of Dimondale; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Hoxsey of Flint, Shelley (John) Oja of Rudyard; several nieces and nephews.    She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Donna Nayback; brother -in-law, Joe Hoxsey.
