Charlene M. Klenk

KLENK, Charlene M.  Age 63 of Gaines, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 3, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Gaines. Visitation will be held 10 AM  12 PM and 2-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Klenk was born July 2, 1939 in Prescott, MI, the daughter of Russell and Eleanor (Anderson) Currie. She married Irwin Klenk on November 23, 1957 in Standish and they have resided in Gaines since 1965. Mrs. Klenk retired in 1985 from Schmelzers Corporation in Durand. She enjoyed crocheting and collecting Elvis Memorabilia, most of all she idolized her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: husband, Irwin of Gaines; daughter, Pam and husband, Tom Cavanaugh of Prescott; son, Michael and wife, Michelle of Durand; four grandchildren, Kelly and husband, Mickey Gilboe of Prescott, Christy and husband, John Edge of Durand, Kurt Cavanaugh of Greensboro, NC, Jason Klenk of the U.S. Army, stationed in Ft. Hood, TX; five great-grandchildren, Tabitha Klenk, Kaitlyn Gilboe, Shiann Macauley, Mariah Gilboe, Hunter Edge; several cousins. Her parents preceded her in death.
