Charles Ross Downing

DOWNING, Charles Ross - age 88, of Flint Twp, passed away on July 16, 2023. Private services will be held to honor his memory. Charles was born on June 9, 1935, in Mikado, MI, to Charles Leroy and Clara (Adams) Downing. In May of 1959, he married Sally Baird.

Charles dedicated many years of his life to working at General Motors, where he rose to the position of supervisor before his retirement. He also served in the National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to serving his country.

One of Charles most cherished pastimes was spending quality time with his loved ones at his cottage on Cedar Lake in Greenbush, MI. The beauty of nature and the joy of family gatherings brought him much happiness.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife Sally and their two daughters: Rossann D. (Tom) Klee of Flint Twp., and Juliann L. Downing of San Diego. He also leaves behind two sisters, Ann Schofield and Barbara (Jim) Rogers.
