HARVEL, Charles Lee - Age 78, of Flint, died December 10, 2012. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 14, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, with Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to South Mundy United Methodist Church. Charles was born May 25, 1934 in Hartselle, AL, the son of Doc Henry and Mattie Jane (Stone) Harvel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a private pilot. Mr. Harvel retired from General Motors in 1989. He also served as the Batallion Chief of the Swartz Creek Fire Department. Charles was a member of South Mundy United Methodist Church and a former member of Brent Creek United Methodist Church. Surviving are: wife, Norma; children, Ric (Cindy) Harvel of China, Rhonda (Matt) Dosh of Grand Blanc, Rochelle (Hugh) Donnelly of Burton; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces and nephews.
