Charles Robert Klenk

Charles Robert Klenk II, age 76, of Durand, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at McLaren Flint. A Celebration of Life will take place at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions in memory of Charles to a charity or church of their choice.

Charles was born on June 16, 1949, in Flint, the son of the late Charles and Mary Jane (Perkins) Klenk. He graduated from Carmen-Ainsworth High School, Class of 1967. Charles began his career with General Motors at the V8 Engine Plant, where he worked for 42 years before his retirement. Shortly after beginning his career with GM, Charles enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1971. Following his service, Charles married the love of his life, Sue Barth. They were united in marriage on July 30, 1971, in Big Rapids. Charles loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to drive. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sue Klenk; two daughters, Sharman Petersen and Andrea Klenk; four grandchildren, Jacob, Cassidy, Michael, and Mason Petersen; and two sisters, Charlotte (Rick) Braden and Pamela (John) Hoffman.
