SWANTEK, Christine Joy (Pobocik) -- Age 59, of Gaines, died Monday December 23, 2013 at her residence. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11AM Friday December 27 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Dan Kogut celebrant. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed at 7PM Thursday. Visitation Friday will be at the church from 10 AM until the mass. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Christine was born May 15, 1954 in Flint, the daughter of Steve and Helen (Ach) Pobocik. She married David Bruce Swantek on October 30, 1971 in Swartz Creek and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2010. She was a bus driver for Swartz Creek Community Schools. She was a devout Catholic and a lifetime member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Chris loved her dogs very much and enjoyed the outdoors and her flower gardening. Surviving are: 2 sons, Chad Swantek (fiancee Jenelle McCann) of Grand Blanc, Troy Swantek of Gaines; 2 brothers, John (Margaret) Pobocik of Lennon, Steven (Julie) Pobocik of Flushing; several nieces and nephews.
