Christopher L. SPECKIN

Christopher L. Speckin Age 61. Flint On September 13, 2013, our father, son, brother, uncle and friend died unexpectedly and peacefully at home after a brief illness. A 1970 graduate of Carmen High School, he was the owner and operator of Speckin Orchard. When he wasn't busy working along side his dad, Chris spent his free time with his loving daughter, Nicole or hunting and fishing with his buddies, most of whom had been close friends since grade school. He drew great strength from them during his last days. He died in peace knowing they would look out for his family and each other. Chris leaves behind his daughter Nicole, his parents, Wellington and Shirley Speckin, sisters Polly Thomas of Bay City and Laura Staley of Swartz Creek. Nephew Matthew (Chieko) Thomas , neices Sarah (Chad) Baldwin and Maria ( Michael) Siwek, and his great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind two long time employees, Judy and Mary, whom he couldn't have done without. Chris was predeceased by his brother Rick, sister Amy and his brother in law John Thomas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to The Optimist International Foundation 4494 Lindell Blvd., St Louis, Mo. 63108. Friends and family will gather at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 2 til 8 PM on Wednesday Sept 18, 2013. Services will be at 11 AM on Sept 19, 2013.
