Clara Smith

Clara Victoria Smith, age 84 of Flint, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023.  A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Calvary Christian Church located at 7315 Corunna Road, Swartz Creek, Michigan 48473 with Pastor Rex Ogdlen officiating.  The family will receive guest at the church from 12:00 PM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Clara to Mid-American Hospice 1020 Professional Drive, Flint, Michigan 48532.

She is survived by her son, David (Christal) Arrowood, Jr. of Flint Township.  Grandchildren, Rebecca, Sarah, Brandon, Brayden, Caleb, Levi, Logan Arrowood and several foster grandchildren.  Great-granddaughter, Sabryn Messler.  grandson-in-law, Kevin Messler, nieces, nephews also survive.

Clara was born on December 30, 1938 in Louisa, KY to the late James and Mary Lucille Rowe.  Her family moved to Ohio and she graduated from Plain City High School.  On May 27, 1956 she married David Arrowood, Sr.and raised her two sons and she also worked as a Secretary for Thomas Engineering in Columbus, Ohio.  After the passing of her husband, Clara moved to Flint, Michigan in 1992 and married Eric Smith.  Together they lived a happy life; attending church, singing in the choir, enjoying music all while loving and serving the Lord.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husbands, David Arrowood, Sr. and Eric Smith.  Son, Otto Arrowood.  Granddaughter, Rachel Messler.  Sister, Patricia Spaulding and her brother, James "Jimmy" Rowe.
