Clarence was born on May 8, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Clarence H. Jr. & Marilyn (Kenewell) Dear. He graduated from Linden High School, class of 1976. He furthered his education while proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, earning his associates degree. He was employed at Vickers Engineering Inc as an electrical engineer following an Honorable discharge. To say Clarence was a "handyman" would still be an understatement. His talents spanned across, carpentry, electrician, machinist, mechanic, plumber and the list goes on. He was always willing to help family members or friends. He also was able to build and program computers; which turned into a passion for "gaming" with some of his grandchildren. He really enjoyed his music, with Pink Floyd as his all time favorite band. Clarence had a fierce love for his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Clarence had a way of making you feel like you were family. Clarence was also a beloved member of New Community Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan.
He is survived by his 5 children, Charity (Nathan) Sweet, Christi Dear, Precious (Kenneth Frost) Owens, Mike (Charlene Murphy) Miller and Amanda (Ronnie Bailey) Dear; grandchildren, Aaron, Anna (Justin), Breanna, Anthony, Nina, Erica (Payton), Mykenna, Ethan, Angalena, Shawn, Jesse, Alexis, Tori and Jayden; 3 great-grandchildren, Elion, Ruby and Nova; his 5 siblings, Cindy, Juanita, Dwight, Dennis, and Becky. Clarence is further survived by many other nieces, nephews and other dear family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Clarence H. Dear Jr. and Marilyn (Fred) Brower, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Vicky (Lee) Wykes; brothers-in-law, Pat Dick and Tom Nemecek and best friend, Jim Shaw.
