SMITH, Clem W. (Bud) - Age 87 of Durand formerly of Linden, passed away on April 2, 2015. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. - . Those desiring may make contributions to the 45th Division Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Clem was born in Climbing Hill Iowa the son of the late Clem L. and Alma (McKnight) Smith. He married Evelyn Risk and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2014. Bud served in the Army during the Korean War and was self employed as a Builder and carpenter for many years. He loved to play pool and poker with his friends at Paradise Park in Harlingen, TX. Clem is survived by his daughter Katherine (Larry) Wykes; son Roger; step daughters Mary (Bob) Bills, Carol (Dwight) Polzin, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; his Army friends of the 279th infantry 45th Division Fox Company.
