Clifford Schmidt, Sr.

SCHMIDT, Clifford Lawrence, Sr. - age 89, of Flint Township, died April 10, 2023. Private services will be held. Clifford was born October 10, 1933 in Romulus, MI, the son of Emmet A. and Ella H. (Schulz) Schmidt. He married Shirley J. Hayberry and she preceded him in death in November 1984 after 32 years of marriage. Clifford then spent 31 years with Carolyn T. Rose and she preceded him in death in January of 2017. Surviving are: four children, Clifford "Larry" Schmidt, Jr. and wife, Mary Jo, Kim M. Schmidt, Shari L. Gardner and husband, Glenn, Craig S. Schmidt and wife, Denise; grandchildren, Nicholas (Holly) Schmidt, Eric (Stacia) Schmidt, Kelsey (Jr) Langelier, Rebecca Plein; step-grandchildren, Phillip Mithen, Allison Gardner; great-grandchildren, Malcolm Schmidt, Dean Schmidt, Evie Schmidt, and Emerson Langelier; step-great-grandchild Hughes White.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmet and Ella Schmidt; wife, Shirley Schmidt, girlfriend, Carolyn Rose, brothers, Emmet, Jr., Richard (Sarah), Harold; sisters, Lila (Arnold) Michling, Iva (Fred) Fanter, Mildred (William) Koths, and Verna (Emil) Kalasz.
