Coleen Margetson

MARGETSON, Coleen Ann - Age 80, of Flint Township, died Saturday, January 4, 2020.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Fr. Roy Horning officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Friday, January 10, 2020 at the funeral home and Saturday from 11 AM until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the family for the care of Coleen's daughter, Brenda.

Coleen was born June 21, 1939 in Flint, the daughter of Clarence and Wealthy (Millard) Gilbert.  She married Ralph Margetson, Sr. in 1966 and he preceded her in death in 1968.  She had lived in the Flint area her entire life.  Coleen attended St. Robert Ballermine Catholic Church. She enjoyed driving up north and spending time with family and friends.  She was a member and past president of the American Legion Post #64.  She also was a member of the Forty and Eight veteran's organization,  Amvets Ladies Auxiliary #180 in Mesick, and the Loyal Order of Moose #1804 in Harrison.

Surviving are: her children, Brenda Walter, Darryl (Cheryl) Walter, and Ralph (Barbara) Margetson, II all of Swartz Creek; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brother, Elbert Gilbert of Flint; and nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; First husband, Howard Walter; 2 daughters, Donna Walter Straight and Coleen Walter; 2 brothers, Clarence "Jim" and David Gilbert, and grandson Ralph Margetson III.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
