August 12, 1923 — December 13, 2013

WILLOUGHBY, Corena Lucile (Eggleston), age 90 years, died peacefully in her sleep after years of struggling with Alzheimer's. Per her wishes she has been cremated and will be buried at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, in Grand Blanc, MI. A celebration of her life will be held sometime next year. The family gives our sincere thanks to everyone at the Argentine Care Center of Argentine, MI and Heartland Hospice Care of Flint, MI for their care and kindness given to our beloved Mother. Corena was born on August 12, 1923 in Kent County, MI to Clarence and Lucy (Lackey) Eggleston. She graduated from Pontiac High School in 1941. She married Arden "Scotty" Willoughby on January 1, 1944 in Pontiac, MI. Together they had five children, Leslie Morgan, Houston, TX; Michele Strocel (Dr. Anton "Tony" Strocel), Fenton, MI and their children Brian Young, Becky Young and Dr. Chris and Shannon Strocel Ash; Timothy Willoughby, MI and his children Bruce Willoughby, and Angela and Joel Herrick; Rae Ford (Mark), Houston, TX and their children Robert and Mandi Haynes, Cory Champion and Joey Haynes; and Andrea Willoughby, L.A. California. There are also 12 great-grand children. Corena was a hard-working, kind and loving person to all and was "care-taker" for many. Corena retired from Central Printing, Flint, MI. She was a devote Christian, a long-time member of St. Christopher's Church in Grand Blanc, MI and St. Andrew's Church in Big Rapids, MI, a graduate of the Sewanee University of the South, School of Theology, Education for Ministry and a member of the Scottish Rite. She enjoyed traveling and was an accomplished seamstress. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sister Wilma "Jo" Chapel of White Lake, MI, her sister-in-law Virginia Reidmiller of Maineville, OH, many nieces and nephews, and special friend, Bridge partner and traveling companion Margaret Coward, Grand Blanc, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and husband Arden. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
