COHOON, Dale M. - Age 79, of Gaines, died Monday, August 9, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 13, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-8 PM and Thursday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice. Dale was born January 25, 1931 in Flint the son of Warner J. and Grace M. (Brewster) Cohoon. He married Idabelle Cook, March 22, 1952 in Argentine. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Dale then retired from GM Chevrolet Truck and Bus. Surviving are: wife, Idabelle; son, Donald and wife Laurie Cohoon of Gaines Township; daughter, Christine Hakes and Walter Parks of Gaines; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother, Hank and wife Joanne Cohoon of Grand Blanc; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Earl J. Cohoon; brother, Dallas and 5 sisters, Marion, Eva, Laura, Betty and Elaine.
