Dale Carl FREESE

FREESE, Dale Carl - Age 86, of Durand, formerly of Flint, Lennon, and Lakeland FL, died Thursday, June 13, 2013. Services will be held 2:30 PM Monday, June 24 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. A gathering will be held 11:30 -1:30 PM Monday June 24 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers , those desiring may make contributions to a public broadcast television station. Dale was born March 9, 1927 in Flint, the son of Fred and Beatrice (Hill) Freese. He was married to Bernice Hutchinson on July 1, 1955 in Flint; she preceded him in death September 10, 1986. Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. When he retired from General Motors he moved to Lakeland, FL. He is survived by 3 children, Daniel (Susi) of Lennon, Curtis of Bass Harbor, Maine, Jennifer (Rick) Walkling of Durand; 7 grandsons, Thomas (Darcy), Dale, Michael and Curtis (Beth) Freese, Evan, Collin and Aaron Walkling; 7 great-grandchildren, Chelsy, Lottie, Averi, Tyler, Malerie, and Natalie Freese, J.R. Walkling. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 brothers, Bud and Jim Freese; 3 sisters, Mildred Skunda, Lenore Stephens, Ruth Hough.
