Darin Scott Watson

July 29, 1965 — April 25, 2025

Flint

Darin Scott Watson, born July 29, 1965, passed away peacefully at his home in Flint, Michigan on April 25, 2025, at the age of 59.

Darin was a skilled tradesman who worked for many years as an Asbestos Abatement Specialist and a welder. He was proud of his work and dedicated to his craft. Outside of work, Darin was most at home outdoors. He was a lifelong hunter and an avid fisherman who found joy in sharing his bounties at fish fries with family and friends.

He had a deep love for music and sports, never passing up a good concert or a chance to cheer on his beloved Detroit Red Wings. Known for his quick wit and love of laughter, Darin was a jokester who brought so much joy to those around him. He was also a devoted son who took pride in caring for his mother as she aged.

Above all else, Darin was a family man. The most important part of Darin’s life was his daughter, Katrina Mashack of Phoenix, Arizona, who he loved beyond measure. He was also surrounded by many friends who were like family to him, a testament to the way he made people feel welcome, valued, and loved.

Darin is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Watson; his father, Joseph Percy Watson; and his sisters, Candy Sweet and Lenna Watson.

He is survived by his daughter, Katrina Mashack; grandchildren, Donovan, Jada, and Mikayla Mashack; nieces and nephews, Jenniefer (Matt) Thomason, Crystal Sweet, Joseph Watson, and William Sweet (Sarah); and many great-nieces and nephews who will carry on his memory.

Darin will be remembered for his humor, his heart, and the way he brought people together - whether around a bonfire, a fish fry, or a Red Wings game. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center (6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan) with a Celebration of Darin's Life beginning at 6:00 PM Friday.
