Darrell E. Copeland

Darrell E. Copeland, age 76, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Visitation will be held at 11am until the Celebration of Life at 1pm on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Homes & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road in Grand Blanc. Darrell was born on January 11, 1950 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late Irvan & Eula (Askins) Copeland. His family moved to Michigan during the General Motors Auto Boom. Darrell attended Flint Southwestern Academy. He was employed with General Motors Tank Plant within the body repair department, retiring in 1999.

He spent his retirement years doing what he loved most, hunting and fishing. He did this from the family property in Kalkaska, Michigan, where they had a small cabin. He passed his love of hunting, fishing and all round love of Michigan's Great Outdoors on to his three sons.

Darrell is survived by his three sons, Dion Copeland, Daniel (Ginny) Copeland and Nelson Copeland; his six grandchildren, Michael, Kara, Annabelle, Gage, Gavin and Trevor; seven great-grandchildren, Jaykob, Arthur, Caspian, Hopie, Charlie, Sybil and Xavier. He is further survived by his siblings, Ronnie, Gary, Irvin and his ex wife Deborah Copeland.
