DAGER, Darwin McKenzie - Age 80, of Fenton, died Monday, January 21, 2013. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 25, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, with Fr. Steve Makranyi officiating. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 PM. Darwin was born February 3, 1932 in Flint, the son of Charles A. and Ula Mae (Fox) Dager. He attended Fenton High School. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corp., where he received a purple heart. Darwin married Mary Lou Hillis June 29, 1957 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. He retired from the Flint Plumber and Pipefitters Local #370. He coached Fenton Little League Baseball for many years. Surviving are: wife, Mary; 3 children, Debra Dager of Melbourne, FL, Cheryl and husband Richard Esser of Panama City Beach, FL, and Michael Darwin Dager of Lambertville; 6 grandchildren, Jackie and husband Mark, Jenny, Lindsay, Jordan, Joel, and Olivia; 4 great grandchildren, Gavin, Madelyn, Jadah, and Brody; brother-in-law, John and wife Michele Hillis of Fenton; several nieces and nephews.
