HARDACRE, David Alan, Sr., age 72, of Kinde, formerly of Davison, passed away on August 2, 2026.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Benjamen Evers will officiate. Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David's memory may be made to the Hardacre family.
David was born on May 7, 1954, in Flint, Michigan, to Joseph and Marie (Prentice) Hardacre, Sr. He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1972 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1972 to 1978. On June 9, 1973, he married the love of his life, Linda S. Johnson, in Goodrich, beginning a marriage that spanned more than five decades.
David was known for his strong work ethic and exceptional craftsmanship. He worked for AC Delco for 10 years before owning and operating Hardacre Building and Remodeling. He also put his talents to work as a skilled auto body repairman at Hempton's Goodrich Body Shop. Even after retiring, David enjoyed staying active while working at Bird Creek Golf Course in Port Austin. In his free time, David enjoyed watching NASCAR and working on cars, especially his beloved 1923 T-Bucket.
David is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Michael (Sonja) Hardacre, and Brian (Samantha) Hardacre; grandchildren, Sean (Sarina) Hardacre, Ashley (Dj) Harrington, Makayla Hardacre, Riley (Doree) Hardacre, Trevor Hardacre, Madison Hardacre, and Savannah Westphal; his daughter-in-law, Lori Hardacre; great grandchildren, Grey Harrington, and Wesley Hardacre; brothers, John (Jennie) Hardacre, and Joseph (Geraldine) Hardacre, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie (Prentice) Hardacre, Sr.; son, David Alan Hardacre, Jr.; and his father-in-law and mother- in -law, Earl and Mardell Johnson. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
