Dave was born on October 27, 1963, to the late Dave Sr. & Carolyn (Duke) McCoy in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from Northwestern High School, class of 1981. Dave retired from Webcor Packaging after 25 years. He was also employed with the Flint School District as a bus driver for many years.
Dave had a deep love for the outdoors and found peace in nature. Whether he was hunting in the woods, casting a line while fishing, or simply enjoying a quiet moment outside, the outdoors was where he felt most at home. He was also an avid ice skater, having learned to swim, skate and fish on Kearsley Lake—something he carried with him throughout his life and passed on by teaching his children.
A lifelong sports fan, Dave could always be found cheering on his favorite teams: the Detroit Red Wings, Tigers, Lions and Michigan State football. His enthusiasm was contagious and often brought family and friends together for game days full of excitement and camaraderie.
Dave was a devoted father to his son Ryan and daughter Amy, and a loving brother to Renee. He was also a proud father figure to Randy and Richard. He loved his children and grandchildren, always showing up to their games and school events, making sure they knew he was in their corner. His presence, encouragement, and kindness made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dave is survived by his children, Amy (Josh) Eisenhauer & Ryan McCoy; father figure to, Richard Breckons & Randy Lalonde; 6 grandchildren, Jade, Bella, Raina, Tristen, Asher and Gunner; his sister, Renee (Tom) Aurand; nieces, Elissa & Sydney and nephew, Evan. He is survived by many other family members and close friends.
In addition to his parents, Dave Sr. & Carolyn McCoy, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents.
