David Brian McPherson

David Brian McPherson, age 78, of Linden, formerly of Highland, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at McLaren Flint. Private arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden. 

Dave was born on October 13, 1946, in Dearborn, Michigan, the son of the late John and Joan (Nichols) McPherson. He graduated from Franklin High School with the Class of 1965. On September 23, 1967, Dave married the love of his life, Ruth, in Garden City, Michigan, after meeting and dating for a couple years. He dedicated 40 years of service to Frito-Lay as a sales representative, retiring in 2006. A proud member of the Teamsters, Dave also served as a union representative and was deeply committed to advocating for fair wages and better working conditions. Dave was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, having grown up as a Scout himself and being inducted into the Order of the Arrow. An outdoorsman at heart, he loved fishing, hunting, and reading. More than anything, Dave cherished time spent with his grandson, Ryan. Whether traveling, playing miniature golf, or simply seeking out new adventures, the bond they shared was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth; his daughters, Judith (William) Boote and Cindy (David) Popham; his beloved grandson, Ryan Boote; and his siblings, Laura (Gordon) Webb, Mark McPherson, and John (Terri) McPherson. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
