David Allen Mead

Mead, David Allen - age 52, of Flint, died on Thursday July 2, 2026 following a tragic hit and run accident. Memorial Services will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Home, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan, 48507. Cousin John Aeby officiating. Family will be welcoming visitors from 1 PM until the time of service at 3 PM on Saturday, July 18 at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Dinner following at 5 PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #629, 2149 Dort Highway, Flint, Michigan.

David was born in Three Rivers, Michigan, on October 12, 1973. He was a man that's heart was with the great outdoors, and nothing brought him more excitement than the arrival of his favorite time of year: Hunting Season. He lived life with an infectious , vibrant energy and was truly the life of the party. He possessed a gift of making everyone laugh. David loved everyone that he met, and that love was returned by his entire neighborhood. In his neighborhood, he was a "guardian angel" to the elderly, selflessly spending his time repairing their homes or mowing their lawns. He was always the first to show up for his family or anyone that was in need. He was also a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #629 and a passionate, lifelong fan of Michigan State.

Beyond his love for nature and his community David's true passion was running. For 33 incredible years, he dedicated himself to the Bobby Crim Race, proudly finishing as the runner-up for his age division several times. Yet, above all his achievements and hobbies David's children gave him his ultimate purpose in life. His love for his children was larger than the world itself, a fierce devotion that will remain his greatest legacy.

David will be greatly missed by his family. Surviving are: father, Rodger (Karen) Mead; mother, Edith H Back; daughter, Faith Helm, grandson, Braxton Helm; daughter Samantha Mead; son, Luke Mead; son, Cole Mead; daughter, Abigail Mead; sister, Virginia (Bruce) Sepanak; sister, Patty Mead; brother Donald Mead; step-siblings, Ryan (Angela) Hect; Randy Hect; Jennifer (Bobby) Tinker; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and an abundance of friends.

David was preceded in death by his Grandson Greyson Helm.
